What television doing to the young minds
Action! Action! Read all about it, A 15 year old boy named Michel Brewr was light on fire intentionally by an argument over his father bike. Three suspects are minder form the age of fifteen and thirteen. This accident happen South Florida, Miami in October 13, 2009. Michael Brewr is an adverted kid. He loves to scat, play video games and hangout with his friends. Sixty-five to eighty present of his body get burned. How did a teen would come up with this idea to use flammable liquid and set a young boy on fire? (“Attempted murder charge after teen is set on fire”) . I feel the crime rate on teen should be blamed on the media and television. When television was invented by John Logie Baird on the 26th January 1926 - First true television demonstrated and a year later in 1927 the "phonovision" system of recording TV. When children were sitting in front of television, they look hypnotics and frozen. Now a day, televisions are too graphic and show too many details. Teen thinks violence is the only way to deal with situation or just fun.
Who else to blame with this catastrophe going on the media/television or parents? In my opinion, I highly believe it is the media/television. When I was growing up television wasn’t the way it is now, time has change. Television promotes anything from violence to real life stories, you call you name it. They had family show that family could relate to. For example: Full house, Family Menders, and Growing pain. These shows were none violent and helpful young view. One of the earliest known teenage female killers wasn’t even a teenager. Mary Bell strangled a three-year old boy and four-year old boy as well just because of kicks in 1968 at the tender age of 11. . Later on in Australia 2006, a 16 year-old “Collie Killers” tied murder just for, strangling and suffocating their victim. What children in their right mind would think strangling someone else is fun. This way of action must be documented somewhere which is television. Watching television children may be more likely to behave in aggressive ways toward others because they little mind it seems alright. In reality it’s not. Life is getting hard to support a family because parents need to work two jobs sometime. Leaving children at home without any supervision they would rely on television to keep them entertain.
Television has many efforts on child. Children don’t understand the meaning between rights from wrong until the person whom supervises them would teach it to them. In my opinion, it is not right televising violent programs while children are still awake. Violent shows are bad not only to children but also to society. People who watch violent television shows want to imitate the television life. For example: action movies and cartoon programs affects our children negatively. Parents who have children need to restrict their viewing of violent television show and need to start with reality show.
A most resist accident that requires, a 15 year Josie Ratley was severely beaten after texting Wayne Treacy age 15 making a remake about his older brother recent suicide. Joise was beaten so badly that she in a coma for three weeks. Wayne Treacy allegedly punched her, kick and stomped her head with steel toe boots. The worst thing about this incident were a young girl age 13 name Kayla Manson knew what Treacy was about to go do to Josie but did nothing to help. Where did a 15 year-old learn how to do these things? This incident happened in South Florida. (“Fla. Teen Beating Victim Coming out of Coma”). . In my point of view, these young teen are watching reality show and these show put in their minds that it alright to take out your out of violent. What happen to school Canceller? What happen to talking to parents about what is going in school? No, reality shows teach young teen to take the matter in their own hands which this would make the situation worst in what it’s really is. A thirteen near fifteen year-old should not be sitting in a jail cell not enjoying life. They should thinking their tomorrow and giving their parents dating issues. However, children in my opinion are copycats. They will imitate whatever someone else would do. For example: when a child is born in a violent home, most likely they will be violent as well or become a serial killer. There is a show name “Locked up” broadcast on MSNBC which example every detail why the inmate is in jail. I know it would be good to know what kind of people we are among but there are children whom don’t need to know these things. I don’t think this information would endanger young minds. The way they put the show “Locked up”, the inmates are happy and it seem like a good place to live which in reality jail is a place of cold and loneness. Imagine when a child is glued in front of a television and absorbing everything you watching.
