Blog 25: Final (I will miss the class)

I want to start by saying this experience of the cluster was so amazing and I want to do it all over again if it’s passable. When fist started this class I ask myself, what I’m doing here. Day by day coming to my experience gained more that I will come home and tell my fiancĂ© what would happen or talk in class. If I can turn the head of time I would do it to have the cluster. The people who made this experience wonderful I will like to include are the Professors.
The first wonderful experience I had was in Louis class HUC 130 class. I enjoy waking up Monday morning just to go to his class. The topics he chooses to talk make the students interesting in every subject. Some student hurt going to class on Mondays but I Know for a fact if they take Louis class they would not regret coming to school on Mondays. His class was basically about the Media and this class make think differently about the Media. In just the way they were present things to society.
However, the second experience is being in the Matrix. I watch this movie several times but when Dr. Smith showed in the class it was so different. He made view the movie in a different aspect and the way he made as think about being in reality or not living in the Matrix. I know this movie is all faction but the experience it was so amazing. In addition, reading the book “ The Matrix and Philosophy” is about the Matrix was interesting as well because they break it down in a better understanding for people to understand the movie.
In addition, the third experience is in Joyce class “American Film”. The first day I walk in the door I said it myself this class would be so boring and not in my led and I was wrong. They always say never judge a book by the cover which I did for “American Film” class. They journey was amazing and she made me see movies in a different way. Now when I sit down and watch a film I don’t just watch it. I will ask my question and know the different types of shots in a movie.
In conclusion, the whole experience made me see things differently. For example: Movie, television and the vertical world. I will always advise for someone to come out of their comfort zone and try other things. I took a changes and it work out for me. I will always remember this cluster as long as I live.

Blog: 24 final draft

What is a Coppertop? A coppertop is a strong battery, long-lasting alkaline batteries. We are catalyze as a coppertop because on how we are dependent on the system. Martine A. Danahay and David Reider argue that “The Matrix” is not a revolution and that the director use lots of tricks to make us be in the Matrix. I will have to disagree with that claim. The director did a really good job on how to present this movie and make his viewer rate this movie as one of most cinematic film. In my opinion, movie the Matrix the tricks are social class. Our mind is built in the system that we are blind from the truth.

According to Danahay and Reider in the book (pg 219),“This would make the human race in The Matrix a class of workers, the agent, and the guardians of capital”. I agree with this statement because in the film agent wants to have all the power and want to destroy all mankind. The characters are ordinary people finding the truth in which they been living in a lie and being plugged into the Matrix is getting power form a plant. Neo is “the one” which represent as a super hero, who is fighting break free from machine and agents who is trying to take over the world. However, according to author I also came across something I disagree with (pg 222), “ the Matrix is a dream world whose purpose is to control us”. In my opinion the Matrix is real because if you die in comeback in the Matrix you really die in human from.

There are some movies that can be compared to the Matrix but “Sleep Dealer” is a good movie to compare to the Matrix. “Sleep Dealer” is a Mexican production movie, which is interesting and easy to understand. The “Sleep Dealer “is about a young man name Memo living in the country side of Mexico on a milpa in Santa. Memo father was a framer. After his father gets murdered Memo went on a journey to help support his family and came across something unusual. Memo wanted to find out how the reason his father got murdered. However, both movies have the similarities in being plug into another world. The only difference is when you inter the Matrix you are still in human from and the metal piece is not in there back of there heads. Neo is “the one” saving Zion from machines that is trying to destroy them. In “Sleep Dealer” when Memo is plug in he is not a super hero. He is a robot from and working as a contraction worker.

Both of the movies have different story lines. Neo is a from of super hero fighting to save Zion and Memo is a contraction worker trying in militarized world and to find a better life style for his people. In the Matrix Neo wanted to know what is in the other side in the computer which he get his answer it was to much for him to handle and title was as “the one”. “Sleep Dealer” Memo wanted to be free because they was catalyze as terrorist. and they just want to have fresh water again. In the film they both show how technology is taking over. The way “Sleep Dealer” put class, work and technology as people who are low-middle class people who are trying to make living working in sleep dealer. Neo and Memo wanted to know answer, which they did. They both won the won the comeback and were successful.

In conclusion, technology is taking over and these movie are giving a heads up just to be inform in what is going to happen.

Blog 22: The Comparison of "The Matrix" and "eXisten"

“The Matrix” is one of my favorite movies. It has come to my attention people view this movie differently. In my opinion, the whole concepts of the movie make me think in a couple of years how the world would be like. Cynthia Freeland explains briefly about penetrating the character Keanu played as Neo in the movie “The Matrix”. Cynthia compares “The Matrix and “eXistenZ” and she claims that eXistenZ” is a better film then “The Matrix”. However, I want to disagree with this claim.
In both movies there is a so much you can relate with. In my opinion, “The Matrix” is much better and interesting then “eXistenZ” Both of the movies are between being the real world and reality. They share that whole concept being pug into something. In “The Matrix” the characters have a martial object be hide their head to be connected to the matrix. In “eXistenZ” the way they would get connected to the game is trough their backs. They have a hole in there back, which insert a pug that will connect to the game and deals with the flesh and blood. “eXistenZ” does not make any sense to me at all. I know there is some similarities in both movies but I don’t understand what is the game is all about. “The Matrix” in the other hand people can understand the concept of the movie.
“The Matrix” is basically about machine and agents, which is destroying all human and trying to take over the world. Neo is the main character which is the one who defeating them. Neo was unplugged to save Zion.
